2000

Spent Easter in Israel - sang in the Nazareth Festival, attended Passover feasts and visited several kibbutz. Tour included Jerusalem, Bethlehem and part of the Golan Heights. The girls swam in the Dead Sea and the Sea of Galilee.
18th May Concert in Brighouse in aid of the Holly Bank Trust and the Forget-Me-Not Trust.
20th May Millennium Celebration: Mansfields World-wide concert for the Sister Cities Association at the Palace Theatre.
Krishna And The Gopis CD
24th June Performed Krishna And The Gopis in St. Mary Magdalene Church, Newark with Rohan de Saram (cello) and John Mayer (tanpuras).
The Little Red Riding Hood Songbook performed with the Orchestra of St John's Smith Square with Rory Bremner as narrator.

Multi-national bank paid all expenses for choir to fly to Antwerp to give a memorable Christmas Concert.

Signed contract with Warner Music UK; album with music composed by Sarah Class recorded in Worksop College with London Mozart Players, conducted by David Angus.
9th December Heralding Christmas at Southwell Minster.
15th December Cantamus by Candlelight at St. Philip Neri Church.
17th December Christmas with Cantamus at the Palace Theatre.

2001


Re-recorded four items for the Aurora album in Sir George Martin's studio in London with a 40-piece orchestra.
10th March Around the World in 80 Minutes concert at Nottingham University.
Aurora CD
April Aurora album released.

Aurora launch was in The Planetarium, London followed by a champagne reception.
Appearances on Blue Peter, Big Breakfast, Open House with Gloria Hunniford; also radio and TV news programmes.
Featured in Classic FM and HMV magazines with rave reviews; OK magazine, Daily Express, Sunday Times and many others.
Items from the album sung in the Trafford Centre, Manchester and Victoria Centre, Nottingham.

Appearance at Donington Motor-racing track where a racing car was customised in the Aurora design. Shane Lynch of Boyzone drove the car - and crashed!

14th April Live performance on the steps of Nottingham Town Hall. That same evening, complete album performed in the Royal Concert Hall, Nottingham, with the girls in new Ghost dresses. Not everyone liked the visual effects!
12th May Around the World in 80 Minutes concert at Repton School.
Aurora released in Japan and sold over 7,000 copies immediately with many magazines there carrying photographs and reviews.
Premiered two Howard Goodall pieces - The Good Morrow (a gift) and The Long Garden (commissioned).

30th June Summer Songs concert at St. Philip Neri Church in aid of the Motor Neurone Disease Association raised £1,980.
July Sandra Milliken from Brisbane, Australia, visited Mansfield for a week as part of her Churchill Fellowship tour of specially significant areas with outstanding choirs.
26th August Performed Around the World in 80 Minutes concert at the Ross-on-Wye International Music Festival.

7th October Opened the First Southwell Minster Music Festival with 1000 Years of Music concert.

27th October Hosted Amabile, a girls choir from Kendal conducted by an ex-member, Charlotte Jackson and gave a joint concert at St. Philip Neri Church.
8th December Ringing in Christmas at Southwell Minster.
15th December Heralding Christmas at Derby Cathedral.
21st December Cantamus by Candlelight at St. Philip Neri Church.
23rd December Christmas with Cantamus at the Palace Theatre.

2002

23rd February Concert with Black Voices at St. Philip Neri Church.
2nd March Concert at Highfields School, Matlock.

Sponsored Sing at Sherwood Hall School.
4th May 1000 Years of Music concert at Coventry Cathedral in aid of the Warwickshire Hospices Group.
23rd June Summer Songs concert at St. Joseph's Church, Sutton-in-Ashfield.

13th July Eve of Italy concert at St. Philip Neri Church.

21-25 August Took part in a competition in Arezzo, Italy.
Won 1st place in the Folk Song category and 3rd place in the Polyphony and Plainchant classes.
First appearance of the new red dresses.

14th December Cantamus by Candlelight at St. Philip Neri Church.

18th December Christmas with Carl and Cantamus in Nottingham's Royal Concert Hall and Manchester's Bridgewater Hall with the Hallé Orchestra conducted by Carl Davis and soloist Mary Carew.

21st December Heralding Christmas at Southwell Minster.

22nd December Christmas with Cantamus at the Palace Theatre.

2003


29th March Sponsored Sing at Sherwood Hall School.

12th April Fairy Tales, Myths and Romances concert at Thoresby Stables.

3rd May Fairy Tales, Myths and Romances concert at Ranby House School.

28th June Joint concert with Amabile Girls Choir in their home town of Kendal.

12th July Concert with the Sheffield Senior Youth Orchestra in the Harthill Carnival Marquee.

13th July Coronation Golden Jubilee at St. Philip Neri Church with the Trelight Brass Quintet, Training Choir and Louise Collett (mezzo soprano).

23rd July-1st August 10 day tour of Provence with 10 concerts in: le Val, Marseille, La Seyne sur Mer, Saint Cyr sur Mer, Sollies Toucas, Lorgues, Signes, Bormes les Mimosas, Saint Maximin and Puyloubier. A gruelling schedule but very well received by French audiences with standing ovations at each concert!

27th September From the Divine to the Enchanting concert at Worksop College.

15th November 35th Anniversary Ball at Kelham Hall.

6th December Heralding Christmas at Thoresby Riding Stables.

20th December Wolcum Yole! at Southwell Minster.

21st December Christmas with Cantamus at the Palace Theatre.

23rd December Cantamus by Candlelight at St. Philip Neri Church.

2004


20th March Fairy Tales, Myths and Romances concert at the Terry O'Toole Theatre, North Hykeham.

21st March Appeared on Songs of Praise, broadcast from Hucknall Parish Church where the girls made up a large proportion of the congregation. The choir also had a solo spot (filmed in Newstead Abbey chapel and cloisters). Some Cantamus mums even got in on the act (men weren't allowed - it was a "women only" event).

16th April Performance for the ISM at Nottingham University's Djanogly Hall.
15th May Going for a Song concert at the Queen Elizabeth School. This was an alternative to the usual Sponsored Sing held each year. Songs were sponsored by companies and individuals; an auction was held in the interval. All proceeds to the Cantamus Tour Fund.

26th June 700th Anniversary concert at St. Edmund's Church, Mansfield Woodhouse.

3rd July Home and Away concert at St. Philip Neri Church with two visiting Australian Choirs: Young Voices of Melbourne and Barker College Senior Choir, Sydney.

8th-12th July Won 2 gold medals (Equal Voices and Folk Song categories) and title of Olympic Champions in the World Choir Olympics in Bremen, Germany.

11th September Concert for Rotary International in Llandudno.

9th October Concert for Grantham Music Club in Grantham.

11th November Civic reception with Nottinghamshire County Council for Olympic Champions.

13th November Christmas carols and turning on Christmas lights at York Coppergate Centre.

28th November Christmas Presence at Harrogate International Centre with Sir Willard White.

4th December Heralding Christmas at Thoresby Riding Hall.

11th December Ding Dong Merrily On High at Southwell Minster.

19th December Christmas With Cantamus at the Palace Theatre.

23rd December Cantamus By Candlelight at St. Philip Neri Church.

2005


5th March Charity concert for Soroptimists in aid of Meningitis Trust, Duffield.

7th April Brand New Flashmob Opera from the Meadowhall shopping centre, Sheffield, broadcast live on BBC3.

23rd April Concert for Newark & District Music Club.

8th May Recording new CD at Sherwood Hall School.

14th May Sponsored Sing at Sherwood Hall School to raise funds for China.

25th June Midsummer Music at St.Philip Neri Church.

2nd July Concert in Sunderland.

15th October Concert at Keyworth for Rotary International.

16th October Photoshoot for new CD.

28th October Concert for Nottingham Soroptimists at the Royal Centre, Nottingham.

14th April Classic Response concert at the Albert Hall, London.

3rd September Civic reception at Mansfield Civic Centre. Cantamus were given the Freedom of the City.

2007

10th March Tribute To Michael Neaum concert at St. Mark's church, Mansfield.
5th May Sponsored Sing at Sherwood Hall School.
23rd June Concert at Ashbourne Festival 2007.
1st July Concert at Queen Elizabeth's School, Mansfield.
14th July Performance at Rufford Park.
